purple sensation is a delightful allium that produces 4-5” globes of tightly packed purple flowers atop 24-30” stems. this variety naturalizes quite easily and can tolerate some shade, though she does best in full sun. she is a favorite of bees and butterflies, while remaining resistant to deer, rabbits, and other rodent pests. purple sensation performs best in zones 4-9, with added mulch for winter protection in zones 4-5. plant purple sensation 6” below the soil line.

purple sensation is sold in packs of 10 for fall planting.

planting instructions:

1. choose an area with good drainage that receives at least 6 hours of sun per day.

2. dig planting holes 4 times the height of the bulb and spaced 6-8” apart. 

3. place bulbs with points facing upward, and then gently pack the soil over the bulb.

4. water once and then not again till spring.
